Christmas
I was listening to the radio early last week and heard a commercial for Toy's for Tots. The radio announcer had said something to the effect of bring a toy and create a memory like your favorite memory of Christmas as a kid. It got me thinking, my favorite memory of Christmas wasn't a toy and that while getting toys for Christmas was nice and fun opening the them, even those who are less fortunate can have their own special Christmas memories and they don't have to be be based on gifts. Toys for Tots is a great organization, but I think that radio announcer has the wrong message. The toys don't make the memories, it's being with family and the festivities that surrounds the holiday season that make the memories.
